Community Picnic - 8/20/22
Exactly one year ago Saturday was the darkest day for every single Afghan in or outside of Afghanistan. On Saturday, August 20, the Immigrant Women’s Community Center sponsored over 225 of our North Seattle refugee families & their children during a community gathering in a local park.
We planned a community picnic so we could keep the minds of the refugee families in our community on something more positive and exciting to look forward to. We are grateful to our partnership with Dungeness Community Church who helped us secure transportations for all these families to the park for a fun day in the sun.
Our organization continues to build a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for refugees and immigrants in the King County area.
